Following the 2012 release of the original Black Bay, Tudor capitalized on the demand for a contemporary product catering to vintage enthusiasts with the 2018 Heritage Black Bay Fifty-Eight. The BB58 surpasses by venturing outside of vintage reedition territory to produce a wristwatch that is almost entirely unique, even though it is obviously targeted at that particular consumer.
Similar to the original Black Bay design, its aesthetic features are derived from vintage Tudor Submariners. Notable examples include the "big crown" and lack of crown guards seen on the 1954 ref. 7922, as well as the well-known "snowflake" handset of the 1967 ref. 7021, which has come to represent the brand. 
 
The main attraction of the Fifty-Eight, despite its vintage inspiration, is its extremely wearable 39mm by 12mm case that is made in Tudor's distinctive Oyster-inspired design. The historical intrigue of the dial is evident, but daily functionality is guaranteed by the highly readable hour markers applied against a dark background. Tudor's MT5402 caliber, which is housed inside the BB58, offers a chronometer-level of accuracy and is further enticing due to its 70-hour power reserve.
