Perhaps Universal Geneve's most well-known model is the Tri-Compax, of which they produced numerous variants between the 1940s and 1960s. The triple calendar, the chronograph, and the moon phase are the three complications that are indicated by the model designation Tri Compax.

Produced in the 1960s, the ref. 222100 is an example of a later Tri Compax. It has a brushed/linen dial and twisted, styled Bombay lugs. Because of its 36mm size and the twisted lugs, it fits the wrist with remarkable ease. With a vertically brushed surface that reflects differently depending on the light source, the dial is one of this watch's most unique features.

The Tri Compax features two apertures and four subdials. The top portion of the watch is occupied by the moon phase function and calendar, while the lower three are occupied by the chronograph subdials. The moon phase, which is a metallic blue with gold stars and moon, is really lovely, I must say. It is Universal Geneve's in-house movement and one of the best and most intricate of the time, driven by the Cal. 281.

Since collectors have realized how high-quality the Tri Compax is, it has emerged as one of the most popular watches on the vintage watch market. Especially now even more, as the watch community is exciting about the new releases in the years 2026 and following.
