One of the most iconic Universal Genève watches of the post-war era is the Polerouter, released in 1954 and designed by the legendary Gerald Genta, the mastermind behind the Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
At the time, Universal Genève was one of the most renowned watchmakers in both Europe and the U.S., particularly known for their chronograph models.
This specific Universal Genève Polerouter Sub is a highly collectible piece, beautifully preserved, and represents a significant moment in watchmaking history. With its connection to one of the most influential designers of all time, this watch is a standout addition to any collection, rich in both style and heritage.

When examined under ultraviolet light, the tritium lume plots show no signs of deterioration and have acquired a gorgeous golden patina. For this watch, the date wheel in art deco font is authentic and accurate.

Hands: When examined under ultraviolet light, the original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and exhibit no signs of deterioration.
Case: It is thought that the superb asymmetrical case is unpolished, still has factory finishing, and exhibits genuine wear and tear. There are minor indications of age and use, but overall the rare and original blue bezel is in excellent condition (and not cracked, like a lot of the vintage Bakelit Bezels). The serial and reference numbers, which are frequently lost because of polishing, are still present on the case back.
Crown: The case's original oversized crown is still present.
