The Omega Automatic Reference 2635-1 from 1950 is a remarkable vintage timepiece that demonstrates Omega's commitment to timeless design and innovation. With its compact stainless steel case, rare dial and revered Calibre 351, this watch is a shining example of Omega's craftsmanship in the mid-20th century. It is one of the finest watches of the twentieth century. Its elegant details and historical significance make it a treasured piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The 33 mm stainless steel case offers a refined and understated presence on the wrist that is typical of the 1950s, yet versatile enough for modern wear. The smooth finish emphasises the clean lines of the case, while the narrow bezel allows the dial to take centre stage. The curved lugs ensure a comfortable and ergonomic fit, allowing the watch to sit gracefully on the wrist. The robust snap-lock case is built to last and protects the movement inside without compromising the sleek profile that characterises this classic design.
At the heart of the reference 2635-1 is the Omega calibre 351, which is part of the brand's innovative automatic movement series. With 17 jewels and a robust construction, the Calibre 351 is renowned for its longevity and precision, making it a mechanical workhorse of the 1950s. This movement not only highlights Omega's technical expertise, but also provides a tangible link to the golden age of watchmaking.
